Academy Committees work under the direction of the Board of Directors to help advance the mission of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
The duties and responsibilities of committees relating to the areas of governance of membership, residency relations, young physicians section, socioeconomic affairs, multimedia, marketing and public information and relations shall be structured and defined by the board of directors if not specified in the AAFPRS bylaws. Unless otherwise specified by the board of directors, actions by committees are in the nature of advice to the board of directors and do not represent the policies of the Academy unless and until adopted. All committee members (unless otherwise specified), may serve two three-year staggered terms.
